Eggs are laid on bare ground between or by plants but if they are dropped in a completely open area at all there are very few and they appear only after the surrounding areas are filled densely. Plot #1 had only 3 eggs at the same time the surrounding area had hundreds. The same was true of plot #2. Man 4 - Moved plot 5 onto patch of [illegible] nearby, further out at bottom of slope, for same reason as above. Man 5 - Johnston survey - GP - 170° 10' RT - 30 WT - 3 Sand - 6. FT - 3 Franklin's Cut Weston Cut RTIB - 26 including 4 chicks. We checked with Mr. Kalish of JTF 96 about this zone. It had arrived but due to henchy situation regarding H&N walkout we were asked not to use it.
