Engler 1936 Sulphur 4042 ft., Humboldt Co., Nev. July 25 The afternoon of the 23 W.C. Russell + I left camp about 5:00 P.M. + drove W of Sulphur about 3mi. in @ rain sand for good sand. We returned to a point 1mi. W Sulphur, 4040 ft., Humboldt Co., Nev. + set out 50 traps each on ground that was sandy but had a crusty surface. Very few low bushes were present & these consisted of Sarcobatus + Atriplex. Taken from this line were 2 Perognathus longimembris, 1 Microdipodops 1 Reithrodontomys megalotis, 1 Peromyscus maniculatus, + 1 Dipodomys microps. The latter had a quantity of Sarcobatus leaves in its pouches. about 4:00 P.M. W.C. Russell, D.G. Smiley, + I drove E- to a point 3.8 mi. NEE of Venado + 11 mi. E of Jumbo. Traps were set at intervals along the way. At a point 2mi. E Antilope, 4400 ft., Humboldt Co., Nev: 15 traps (mouse) were set at the base of a low rocky hill beside the road. The traps were set near Sarcobatus bushes growing on loose rocky soil. 1 Perognathus longimembris was taken here. ½ mi. E of this point 15 more traps were set halfway up a shale covered
