5mi. N Summit L., 5900 ft, Humboldt Co., Nev. July 23 (cnt) occasional "Callo" were seen beside the road at many points along the way. At this wrong directions were the cause of our turning N out of our way to Quinn Point Crossing. When we reached a point 5 mi. N Summit Lake, 5900 ft., Humboldt Co., Nev. we made camp by the side of the road. Soon after setting out 20 traps it commenced to rain. At 5:00 A.M. the sky was clear + bright. The sun had already arisen. From the traps were taken 1 Eutamius minimus, 1 Lagurus curtatus & 5 Peromyscus maniculatus. Two "boons" were shot by W.C. Russell at this place. Camp was struck about 7:00 A.M. & we continued N to Denis, Oregon via Alder Cr. etc. The country along this stretch of road varied from low hilly land covered will rock + low bushes to flat desert land consisting of gravelly soil + low Larobatus bushes.
