It was as the sky was still overcast & a few drops of rain fell from time to time. About 41/2 mi. S of Diesner a rattlesnake was shot by W.C. Russell. It was heard rattling as we drove by the pile of rocks on which it was coiled. About 4 mi. S of Diesner an antelope raced alongside our car & passed in front of it. Farther on a herd (about 20) was seen running across the flat land. Their body moves smoothly along while their legs seem to bounce under them. At this same place a flock of sage hens were flushed one flew in front of the car & was timed at about 55 mi. per hr. \n4 mi. SW Diesner, 5800 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. a trap line of 20 traps was set along the edge of a hay field in hopes of taking Microtus mordax reported there by the owner of the land. From this line of traps were taken 10 Peromyscus maniculatus \n4 mi. S Diesner, 5800 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. a line of 35 traps was set among the low Artemesia bushes beside the road. The
