1/2 mi. N Vya, 6000 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. Engler 1936 July 2 (early), caked, sandy soil. They were set about 40 ft. apart. The exact locality as determined was 15 mi. S Vya, 5800 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. From this line of traps 6 Peromyscus maniculatus, 1 Dipodomys ordii, 1 Eutamius minimus, 1 Microdipodops, + 1 Perognathus parvus were taken. Many horned larks were seen in this vicinity, jackrabbits were plentiful & a few Blacknecked stilts were seen in the lake. North of this lake at a point 12 mi. S Vya, 5800 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. a line of 20 traps was set among the Artemesia bushes which were growing in windblown loose sand along the road. 1 Perognathus parvus, 1 Eutamius minimus, 1 Microdipodops + 8 Peromyscus maniculatus were taken from this line of traps. One of the Microdipodops had its head & hind quarters gone, probably eaten by some small mammal. 2 1/2 mi. N of this point a sick looking jackrabbit was shot. It was slow in its movements & appeared to have many patches, bare of fur, over its body. Many ticks could be seen on its ears. At a point 10 1/2 mi. S Vya, 5800 ft., Washoe Co.
