The truck was stopped & they moved off to a distance of about 400 yds where they continued their grazing, however, some were watching us. After passing thru [illegible] Fort Bidwell we reached Cedarville about 10:15 A.M. & after supplies etc. we obtained we drove E to Uya & then 1/2 mi. N. The exact locality of the camp being 1/2 mi. N Uya, 6000 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. Description of Camp on 12 Mi. Creek 1/2 mi. E Calif. line, 5300 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. The road leading to the camp-site was down a steep grade into the canyon. along the road ground squirrels of the C. orognus type were seen. The camp itself was within 35 feet of the Cr. which was lined with cottonwoods. N of the camp was a steep hill covered with rock slides of lava. Very few bushes grew on this hill because of the rocks. S of the camp across the Cr. was another steep hill which was covered with Artemesia at the top of the hill was a ledge of rock at the base of which was a border of aspens. A large meadow was beyond this hill on which antelope & deer were seen. Many Jays were in the trees along the Cr. & were often seen
