Night-hawk 3. Mourning dove. camp on 12 mi Cr., Nev. The exact locality of this camp is July 17. 12 mi. Cr., ½ mi. E of Calif. line Washoe Co., Nev. Last night set out a line of 30 traps on the north slope of the creek. They were set about 60 feet apart + were [illegible] among the rock slides on this slope. From this line of traps 11 Peromyscus maniculatus + 3 P. crinitus were taken. The P. crinitus were taken from the rockier parts of the hill, while the P. maniculatus were taken from the more brushy parts. July 18 At 5:00 P.M. two steel traps were set for ground squirrels at 12 Mi. Cr., 3/4 mi. 5300 E Calif. line, Washoe Co., Nev. on a small flat area backing the stream + covered with artemisia bushes which were growing in a loose alluvial soil. Returning to camp 2 California gays were shot. A Slicker (Red-shafted) flew from the same tree in which the gays were perched.
