Last night set out a line of traps at 65 Hansen, 4800 4650 ft, Washoe Co, Nev. among the Sarcobatus & Artemesia on winddriftable sand. This morning took from the traps 1 Dipodomys levispes, 3, D. ordii, 7, Microdipodops & 6 Peromyscus maniculatus. The area covered by the trap line did not. July 17. Spent day of 15th around camp preparing specimens for shipment etc. On morning of 16th packed up camp & left for 12 mi creek in Nev via Cedarville Calif. & Fort Bidewell. Reached the new camp site in the middle of the afternoon. Imi W Description of Camp near Hansen Nev. The camp was made in an emergency school house just inside of the Nev line & about 100 yds from the main road. Artemesia & Sarcobatus surround the cabin. Wind driftable sand is found over most of the country in others the ground is somewhat caked. There was very little wind noticeable during our stay of 2 days yet very few birds other than Cliff Swallows were seen. Many night flying insects were about but no bats were seen.
