Engler 1936 Rock Cr., 5000 ft, Granite Mt., Washoe Co., Nev. July 14. Reaching camp about noon preparations were made to move to another locality. Description of camp & immediate surroundings. The camp was located about 23 miles N. of Yerlach on Rock Cr., as has been stated. It was pitched along side the stream & about 150 yds. from the end of the dirt road that goes a short distance up the cr. The immediate cr bed is lined with aspens. To the south of camp was a steep hill running east & west & getting higher towards the W. It was covered with Artemesia & an occasional composite. Rocks were scattered over the lower slopes. Higher up the mt. The ground became more gravelly from the decomposing granite until at the top large granite boulders were scattered about. W of camp the stream came down the mt. It was lined with a greater growth of aspen further up the mt. N of camp was another steep slope but instead of granite boulders it was more rocky & covered with dark lava boulders. Less vegetation
