Engler 1936 \nJuly 5 we drove north to Cottonwood canyon where we placed one set of gopher traps in an alfalfa field 8 miles S of Flanigan. Exact locality, Cottonwood Cr., Virginia Mts.. 8 mi. S Flanigan, 4300 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. (3 mouse traps were set at previous locality. it 4\frac{1}{2}mi. S Flanigan)1.2?yla, 3 Bufo taken here. July 6. The early morning was spent in work around camp ie writing notes, blowing skulls etc. while some of the others visited their trap lines. About 10:00 A.M. E.R. Hall & I drove to the gopher sets. The one in Cotton- wood canyon contained 1 Thomomys quadratus. One of the sets at the farm 4\frac{1}{2}mi. S of Flanigan held 1 Thomomys bottae. 2 Reithrodontomy's were also taken at this place. Four redwinged blackbirds 3♂ + 1♀ were taken here after the traps were collected also one leopard lizard. Three of the birds were prepared. at 5:30 P.M. I set out 9 rat traps around the base of a rocky ledge \frac{1}{2}mi. NW Flanigan, 4200 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. + 15 mouse traps on the sandy slope which is spotted with ditumisia + Sarcobatus. They were set about 40th apart.
