5 Engler 1936 W side Truckee R, 4900 ft, 1/2 mi. W Verdi, Washoe Co., Nev. July 3 (cont). Night Hawk 5. Violet Green Swift 6. Killdeer 7. Evening Grosbeak 8. Calif. Yellow Warbler 9. Calif. Linnel 10. Spotted Towhee 11. Green backed Goldfinch Besides these species there were others that were not identified. The birds were present in great numbers + kinds but there were very few mammals at this camp. Three kinds of amphibians were found, Bufo, Hyla, & Rana. Two kinds of reptiles were found the Yellow bellied Racer & Garter snake. July 3 Bought supplies at Reno then drove N to Pyramid Lake then W to Flanigan. Pitched Camp 1/2 mi N W of Flanigan, 4100ft. Washoe Co., Nev. The wind blew steadily throughout the afternoon up until about 6:00 P.M. when it died down. Trap lines were set out in different directions from camp.
