Engler 1936 Calospermophilus July 13 1/2 mi. S Rock Cr., 6000 ft., Granite Mt., Washoe Co., Nev. 1 taken at top in gulley between two hills. It was shot as it was running into dense brush. Others were seen at top of nearby hill on large granite boulders. (No. 99 ♂) July 18 1/2 mi. Cr., 3/4 mi. E Calif. Line 5300 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. 1 specimen shot as it was feeding on ripe currants. It was in the lower branches of the bush when shot. Others were seen running over the rock slide at same locality. (No. 98) July 20 1/2 mi. N Vya, 6200 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. 1 specimen, taken in mousetrap near rock ledge. A number of holes were seen found around in ground around place where trap was set. It is thought that is squirrel burrows. Aug. 5 3 mi. S Mt. Rose, 8300 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. Callos were watched while they were foraging among granite rocks beneath pines. It was noted that they continually followed the same forage beat & did not encroach on another property. One animal was seen to stretch & yawn much like a cat.
