Engler 1936 9 mi. E Fanning, 4100 ft., Buena Vista Val., Peshing Co., Nev. Aug. 2 Leaving El Dorado Canyon, we drove S to Ojano where we turned E over a mt. pass into Buena Vista Valley. The floor of this valley is quite flat & consists of hard caked alkali soil covered with Atriplex & Sarcobatus. There are a few farms that can be seen as you drive out of the pass. Alfalfa hay seems to be the reason for their existence. We drove past (S) the nearest of these two farms & out across the valley until we reached a point 9 mi. E Fanning, 4100 ft., Buena Vista Val., Peshing Co., Nev. where we camped overnight beside the road. I set out 60 mouse traps on some crust caked sand dunes that were seen about 7 mi S of the road. E. R. Hall & D.C. Smiley likewise set out 60 traps around these dunes. From my sixty traps I took, 4 B. maniculatus, 2 B. longimembris, 1 D. microps & 1 B. megacotis. Aug. 5 We left immediately after breakfast for the S base of Granite Mt. arriving there about 9:00 A.M. Aug. 2, 1936. The exact determined locality was S Base Granite Peak, E Range, Peshing Co., Nev.
