Engler 1936 El Dorado Can., 6000 ft. Humboldt Range, Pershing Co., Nev. Aug 1. taken. El Dorado. List of birds seen near Sun Canyon. 1. Warbling Vireo 1 taken 2. Canyon Wren (10+ seen) 3. Cooper Hawk. 4. Valley Quail 5. Linnel 6. Jay sp? 7. Robin 8. Green-tailed towhee. 9. Nuthatch sp? 10. Vulture Many Sceloporus were seen & quite a few were taken. Two Stupid racers were collected. One, a small one, had halfway swallowed a Sceloporus & because it could not move fast was caught. Two Yellow-bellied racers were seen fighting over a P. maniculatus which one of them had partially swallowed. They were both taken. The Cooper Hawk that I took had the remains of some rodent, about the size of a "Calle" in its stomach. One foot + some, some leg bones + fur were found.
