Engler 1936 El Dorado Canyon, 6000 ft., Humboldt Range, Pershing Co., Nev. Aug. (cont.) the M. mordax shot there in the morning. 17 B. maniculatus + 2 Perognathus parvus were taken. 26 of these traps were left out during the day + 1 M. mordax was taken. Camp We broke camp + left for the E. Humboldt Range or (East Range) on the afternoon of the 31. Description of camp in El Dorado Canyon. camp was made in an old cabin beneath a number of large cottonwood trees. N of camp was a steep hill. The cabin was at the base of this hill. Artemesia + junipers dotted the hill which was about 1000 ft. high. S of camp, across a small stream, rose a similar hill. The canyon cont. about a mgt 1 1/2 mi. E of camp where a mt. slope, tended to box it in. Wild horses were seen on this slope. A line of cottonwoods aspens + underbrush bordered this stream up to a spring about 4 mi. from the end of the canyon. & While quite a few different kinds of birds were seen they were comparatively few in numbers.
