Engler 1936 21 mi. W & 2 mi. N Lovelock, 4000 ft., Pershing Co., Nev. July 30. We started our trap lines from this tree. 24 traps were set out at a distance of about 70 feet between the traps. In the afternoon we saw an Arkansas Kingbird fly into the tree as we were setting traps & in the morning a Mockingbird, identified by W.C.R., was seen at the same place. From this place I took 1 Peromyscus maniculatus 1. Perognathus formosus & 1 D. merriami. W.C.R. caught a short horned horn toad here. Shortly, afternoon of the 29th we broke camp & left for Lovelock on our way to the Humboldt Range of mts. Aug. 1. We made camp in El Dorado Can., 6000 ft., Humboldt Range, Pershing Co., Nev. in a cabin beside the road leading up the canyon 20 yds. S of the cabin was a narrow stream & very shallow. Trout had been planted thus the spring before & number of small ones were seen in a very shallow pool some of them half out of the water. One 6in. trout was taken from the deep part of this pool. Half of its body was above the surface of the water which was too shallow for it to swim in
