Itinerary
July 11th Paris Put out 50 gort traps, 2 rat traps
and 4 gopher traps west from camp
three page brush to rocky outcrops
about 1/2 mile then north and back
To camp along gully.
July 12th Took up traps this morning
total 24 mammals as follows -
3 Perog. parvus, 1 Butanica minimus, 18 P. maniculatus
and 2 Thomomys quadratus. - Shot one Callospermophilus lateralis on rock outcrop - 1 junco
and 1 Brewers sparrow.
Visited seven traps set in rock outcrop
Took 1 minutato Callospermophilus -
shot two mountain blue birds -
Set out 3 gopher sets, 27 gort traps in
bog - 5 in sage above bog - all N.E. of
Camps about two hund yards -
July 13th Took 5 Microtus and 3 P. maniculatus
in bog traps - nothing in page. Live traps
set near tent yielded 1 minutat, P. maniculatus.
Traps at rock outcrop 4 mile W camp
yielded nothing - In sage Artemesia
above bog saw a white crowned Sparrow
with two young able to fly a little.
Shot into a flock of about 15 Horned larks,
on meadow south of bog and killed two -
Took 3 gophers from the gopher sets.
