Bog Itinerary 1934 July 5th Cont'd - not disturbed and no tracks near. July 6th Hunted birds this morning 10 1/2 mi S Morrington, W. Walker River, Lyon Co., Nev. Birds seen but not already recorded in itinerary or Catalogue: Bush-tit, Navy? woodpecker. 3 Steel traps across river from Camp un molested. This camp was located along side of the river on relatively low sandy ground. There were numerous Cotton woods and willows along the bank with Atriplex back from the river. The valley was two or three hundred yards wide at this point narrowing to a gorge about 1/4 mile [illegible] west of the camp. Stony and gravelly ridges rose in succession to the main ridges perhaps 800 to 1000 ft above the river. Several irrigation ditches are on each side of the river - with cottonwoods and willows on either bank. The river itself had a fairly rapid fall with rocky bottom in most place altho [illegible] and there in quieter parts the bottom and shores were sandy. Birds were fairly numerous in the trees and willows near the river. Soon tracks were observed at several places along
