Generary Edge 1934 June 30 cont'd occurs. This has a thick carpet of short grass - The shortness may be due to sheep grazing - Large numbers of sheep apparently pasture thru this entire region earlier in the season. There are numerous prospect holes in the vicinity and the country around Pine Grove has been had the vegetation somewhat Modified by Man, as there are several large Mines (gold) there which give evidence of having employed a considerable number of men years ago. The road in thru Pine Grove is fairly steep in a number of places as well as rough - but No difficulty was encountered in getting over it. July 1 - Broke Camp & mi. 5 W Pine Grove and left there at 9:00 a.m. Roadster, two trucks, all equipment and personnel. The road out to the Main highway appeared was a better road then the one by which we entered. Reached the new Camp site on the banks of the West Walker River about 10:30 a.m. Location is
