Put out 3 double gopher sets North of camp about 7:00 am, took two T. quadratus by 1:00 p.m. This Camp is located in what appeared to be the upper part of the Pinyon belt in steeply rolling country of alternate ridges and narrow valleys. The hillsides near the camp have a fairly dense growth of Pinyon pines, the valleys support a more or less dense growth of Artemesia with some Chrysothamnum scattered here and there - On some of the higher and rocky hillsides only a meager growth of low Artemesia occurs. On the highest summits Mountain Mahogany occurs - The pail varies - In the valleys there may be sandy loam, on the hillsides this is mixed with a great deal of fragmented rocks. On the sides of the ridges and on the tops frequent outcrops of a volcanic type of rock can be found. Water is not abundant but an occasional spring or seepage appears and in their vicinity a small patch of meadow usually
