Itinerary 28th. 1934 June 27 cont'd. Appx. 25 traps were placed in Artemisia at the bottom of the canyon - space on an average of about 8 paces. The remaining traps were irregularly distributed in the Pinon and among patches of broken rock - Soil: Sandy loam rock. June 28. Took 14 mammals from trap line, species as follows. 14 P. maniculatus sonorensis - Visited trap line 1°° p.m. - twenty five traps out - 15 in Artemisia - 10 in fragmented rocks at top of ridge - Total specimens 3 Mammals and 1 green tailed towhee - mammals as follows - 1 Palospermophilus lateralis trepidus, 1 Otomys minimus and 1, Eutamias quadrivittatus shot one Male W. Tanager. Drove up Canyon S with Hall to point about 2 miles S of Camp. Set out traps at three places, 20 trap (got mouse) set farthest out 7800 ft in low Artemesia with occasional pinon pines - soil sandy loam with considerable amount of broken rock present 12 traps were put out about 1/3 mi back along road towards the camp - vegetation much same except
