U. M. Szyjadon 1978 Basilenterus culiceivorus El Juil, 230 m., 19.5 km. NWE Encarnacion by road, Depto. Itapua, Paraguay. 17 September I surveyed the area around the hotel, ging up and down the path to the road, around the back of the Reinhard's, building #2 and building #1, around the miniature golf course, and then up down the paths surrounding the hotel. I recorded two birds, B11 and B 12, and heard another bird singing at the same time to the NW of B11. I was unable to record this other bird because it stopped singing. I was going to survey the airstrip and gravel pit but it became too windy. I think the wind was a problem when I surveyed the paths, for a bird I found at the garbage dump-airstrip path intersection was singing only very sporadically and the bird I heard singing on the path to the drainage ditch yesterday was not singing at all. I then walked the Airstip, Cross Country, Loop and Middle Trails. I recorded a bird I had previously, heard near the place where the cornfield path leaves the Cross Country Trail 17 September one after.
