U.M. Diazdoz 1978 El Inol, 230 m, 19.5 km. NNE Encarnacion by road. Dpto. Itapua, Paraguay. 5 September When I returned to the hotel at 10:45 I heard a Glaucidium brasilianum call and a Red Johnson imitation. I met Red who had been trying unsuccessfully to see the owl. He went back and called the owl some more but the owl only called a few times. The owl was near where I had recorded one on 3 September, that is SE of the dining hall swimming pool. this afternoon. While packing I kept my door open, listening for interesting bird sounds. From 17:15 and to 18:00 I went to the carport behind hotel building #1 and recorded thrushes.
