U.M. Dzierzbos 1978 El Jul, 230 m., 19.5 km. NNE Encarnacion by road Dpto. Itapua, Paraguay. While I was recording along the lower road it started to mist, with the mist getting quite heavy at times. I took the same route back to the hotel, returning at 13:45. At 15:45 I left the hotel to record on the airstrip. I spent some time banding a Basileuterus culicivorus from the net in the drainage ditch on the way to the airstrip. At the airstrip it was relatively quiet and in terms of birds and quite windy. I returned to the hotel at 18:00. Today Red Johnson and Anne Jacobberger collected a ♂ and ♀ Caprimulgus parvulus at the spot where Red tried to collect the bird that I recorded on 15 September. 21 September I left the hotel at 07:35 and took the path to the airstrip. It was foggy and misty at that time, but by 08:00 it was clear with a blue sky. The temperature was warm, and there were no to medium winds. At the airstrip I looked at the birds visiting the fruit trees bordering the area in which they were trucking out gravel. I saw a Tigranites substriatus Muscicapa tyrannus,
