Itapua, Paraguay. 19 September One bit of behavior of breeding record interest today was a Great Kiskadee (Pitangus sulphuratus) carrying a long piece of vegetation (a palm frond?) The bird was carrying the vegetation up to a tree in the row of trees bordering the road in the yard across the road (NE) of the castor trees field. The time was 09:40. 20 September The weather in the morning was cool (approximately 65 F), overcast, with no to slight winds. The woods were very wet due to yesterday's rain. At 07:45 I left the hotel and took a path from the miniature golf course to Middle Trail. On the way I listened for Basileuterus culicivorus which I recorded before or wanted to record. I took the Super Fern Trail to Cross Creek Trail, listening for Empidonax euleri and Basileuterus culicivorus along the way. I also listened for these species along the Cross Creek Trail and the section of the lower road (off the cornfield) which has forest on both sides.
