I left the hotel at 07:35, taking the path from the miniature golf course to Middle Trail. I left Middle Trail at the gravel pit, and walked from the gravel pit to the airstrip. While walking through the gravel pit and airstrip, I listened for Basiliscus culicivorus and Empidonax euleri. The wind up to that point had been relatively calm, but it started to pick up once I reached the end of the airstrip. I then walked down the road to Becker's forest. (Anne Jacobberger and Neil Johnson were shooting in the turn orchard and Becker's forest, and the vocalizing of the birds would stop whenever a shot went off.) I walked through the castor tree area to pasture #2, then over to the "cut over, grazed forest." I took the same route back to the hotel, and returned at 13:40. It started to rain at 15:00 and continued past dark, so I didn't record this afternoon.
