I then surveyed the Basilentus culicivorus and Empidonax euleni on Loop and Cross Country Trails. After I had finished, I took the Airstrip Trail back to the hotel, arriving at 13:15. At 16:00 I started my period of recording around the hotel. I was most interested in getting recordings of the swifts which have been flying overhead and of Euphonia. The swifts flew over a few times, but were very high and only called briefly. The Euphonia weren't around (or weren't calling). I returned to my room at 18:00 17 September I started the day at 05:40, walking the area around the hotel, listening for Basilentus culicivorus and Empidonax euleni. I had completed the hotel grounds and was working on the paths around the hotel when the wind (which had to that point been of medium strength) became very strong, whipping the tree tops about. I gave up the survey at that time, which was 07:30. At 09:30 I took the path from the miniature golf course area to the Airstrip Trail and then walked the Airstrip Trail.
