When we reached the tung orchard we heard a caprimulgid with a call similar (if not the same) as the one we heard from the gravel pit. As we approached the bird, Ned gave a few calls and 2 Otus (probably choliba) approached and sat within 20 ft. of us. Ned called some more and I got some recordings of one Otus. Ned tried unsuccessfully to collect the caprimulgid but I did get some recordings of it. We later passed some Otus (probable, choliba), with Ned calling and me recording and trying playback. I believe I heard 3 Otus calling at once from the tung orchard area. We then (it was about 23:00 by now) walked to the "cut over, grazed forest" area, and Ned tried unsuccessfully to call in other species of owls. As we were walking back, we heard a bird (caprimulgid?) calling from the area where Becker's Forest borders pasture #2, and I recorded it. We got back to the hotel at midnight. 16 September I left the hotel at 07:45, and then took the path from the miniature golf course.
