I headed back to the trails and got about halfway back to the hotel when the sun came out. Since there was still a lot of wind and almost no vocalizing, I decided to go back to the hotel, returning at 11:40 using the route I took to the cornfield. At 15:30 I checked the mist nets around the hotel to see if they had any Basileuterus in them, and I brought along the recording equipment. The wind was still very strong, and there was very little vocalizing going on. I returned to the hotel around 17:00. One interesting aspect of this very windy day was that I got to watch the birds soaring high overhead, being carried by the winds. Seen soaring were a Plumbeous Kite (Ictinia plumbea), 2 Black Vultures (Coragyps atratus) and a flock of Gray- breasted Martins.
