12 September finished about 10:00.
From 10:00 to about 12:30 I took the
Lower Loop, Cross Country and Airstrip
Trails and then returned to the hotel.
At 15:40 I took the path from the
miniature golf course to the Airstrip
Trail, and then walked to marakini
Lek #IV. I waited at the lek for
an hour (from 16:00 to 17:00), but there
was very little vocalizing going on.
I returned to the hotel via the Cross
Country, Loop and Middle Trails, and
arrived at 18:00.
13 September The most memorable thing about today was
the weather. It was very windy all day with
trees being blown around the
hotel. There were occasional periods of
rain and some of sunshine, but mostly
the sky was gray. The temperature was quite
warm, I'd say in the high 70's.
In the early morning I was discouraged
from recording by the strong winds and the
periods of rain. At 09:40 I ventured out,
howerer, and took Middle, Loop and Cross
Country Trails to the cornfield. I was just
about to pursue some birds on the Lower,
