I took the Airstrip Trail after taking the path from the miniature golf course I then followed the Airstrip Trail to Tree Fern Creek, at which point I took the path to the "cleared fields + house" area. I walked around this area (seeing 2 Melanerpes candidus, a Zonotrichia capensis, a Colaptes campestris and an unidentified Buteo-sized hawk), and then took the same route back to the hotel returning at 12:25. 9 September At 07:35 I left the hotel. The sky was blue with white clouds, the temperature was warm, and there were slight to medium winds. I first took the path from the miniature golf course to the Airstrip Trail. While on the Airstrip Trail, I stopped for about an hour at manakin lek #IV. While I was a re- cording a Southern Antpitta (Crytopsis delalandi) at lek #IV, Ned Johnson came by (he was attracting by the bird's song). I played my recording back, the bird approached, and Ned shot the bird (NKJ #3952). Ned told me that he had seen a big black ceterid singing in the "cleared fields + house
