Basileuterus culicivorus El Juliol 230 m. 19.5 km. NNE Encarnacion by road. Dpto. Itapua, Paraguay. 22 September of songs from B.C. I started off by easily getting (after recording an earlier 100 songs) a series of 100 from B12. I then went to B3 and got 100. From then on it was frustration however. I tried getting series of 100 from B14 (many times), B9, B1, B10, B13 and a B.C. from above lek IV (B6?). The birds were singing series of maybe 20 songs, or were inaccessible, or would fly off during the series and become inaudible. Besides the above birds I also heard B11. I went by and did not hear B16, B7, B6 (?), and B5. I went by the last two birds around noon though, and it was very hot. I heard a new (?) bird near Culec Creek and Loop Trail's meeting point. It was calling from NE of this point. 23 September I started off the day at 06:00 and walked down the hotel road to the road to Encarnacion. On the way I heard birds B11 and B12.
