U.M. D'ziadon 1978 Basileuterno culicivorus El Juiol, 230 m., 19.5 km. NNE Encarnacion by road, Dpto. Itapua, Paraguay. 21 September I censused Becker's forest and the "cut over grazed" area. On the way to these areas I went by the areas for birds B11, B12, and B15, and heard all three. At Becker's forest there were no B.C. singing, though I did see a pair feeding near the spring. In the "cut over grazed forest" area I recorded one of the two I had heard there on 19 September (B19) but the other bird was not obvious. I afterwards heard a bird singing from halfway be- tween B19 and where I had heard the other bird, so things were confusing. While I was recording B19 I thought I heard another bird singing from the general area of where I heard the other bird on 19 September, but I could never hear two birds at once again (part of the reason for that may have been that someone was shooting birds in the immediate area). In the afternoon I recorded a bird at the reservoir, a bird I think may be B15 due to its location. While recording I believe I could hear B11 in the background. 22 September Today was my day to get long series
