In this case they invariably fly down & across a valley or gully. Two birds are shot today. April 6 A male partridge was shot this morning by B. Meyer. An internal examination of this bird discloses 3 large (3" long) nematodes lodged in the intestinal mesentery. These are preserved in formalin & by d. Suvor. Apr. 4-11 — General Impressions. During the past week I have been Bram Chuba hunting several times & some general impressions of the habit of these birds may be noted: They seem most active shortly after sunrise judging from the intensity of their calling but and they continue to feed & call on the lower slopes until nearly noon. Mornings are nearly always sunny & clear; however by noon skies become overcast and the birds seem to retire. Even on the days when it did not become cloudy until mid-afternoon, I failed to see or hear a single partridge after 11:30 AM. Bram Chuba have never been heard or seen in the late afternoon or evening.
