Marmot 25. Apr 23 kot. 1954 87 A finch is shot from its perch on the dry brush (WWO.81) along side the trail up valley. (900 H.M.) Chonglas fly continuously high above the canyon walls, they never seem to come down into the valley. A Raven is heard squawling across from camp, the bird is shot at & it flies to a fir top 160 yds away. I again approach shoot, & miss, & the Raven leaves the area. 71 On a walk down valley the most common birds are the Chickadee 76 & the Tit like birds (WWO.76) both of which frequent both the Fir & the Rock derbyon A small falcon flies 100 yds overhead, & this quiets all birds in the vicinity. Traps are checked during the day but nothing has been caught. As usual cloudy weather this after- noon, but not rain & skies are clear again by sundown, all tribu-tary streams draining the snow fields above the canyon wall are high & murthy this afternoon.
