Mabonnie 1954 Mar 21 5 mi N. of Khandbari, elev 5500 ft, Nepal. E. side of Arun River drainage. The site is rocky - large granite boulders, open lurval, occasional tree groves. A few rice paddies nearby. One bird shot from the upper branches of a 50 ft. tree (WW.47) There are 8 or 10 other birds of this sp. calling in the tree. Time 10:00 A.M., a nearly dry creek flows nearby. Two birds are seen to alight on the top branches of a lone 50 ft. tree. They remain there for about 7 minutes until one is shot (WW.P.48). The intermittent creek flows near the base of the tree. Another bird, presumably of this sp. is seen motionless atop a 10 ft. boulder, remaining there ~ 5 min.
