Arun River Valley, elev. 600 ft, Nepal. A falcon + 2 small birds taken along side the river,
which is sand bottomed with occasional tree
graves. The falcon (W.W.D. 40) is sitting motionless
on top of a 6 ft. boulder. Several other falcons
have been seen overhead in the immediate area
and one is posted on the apex of a 50ft. tree
debut 100 yds. from the bird shot. The small
birds, same sp. (W.W.D. 41, 42), are shot from a
bush of ~6 birds in low, willow-like trees
within 100 ft. of the river. Time 4:00 PM.
A dove + two other smaller birds are
taken from the clay, partially wooded (broad-
leafed trees), steep slope 75 yds. from a
stream small tributary off on the east side of the
Arun River. The slope is S-facing & all
3 birds taken are not more than 100 ft. up the
slope. The 2 smaller birds (W.W.D. 38, 39)
were shot from low trees. The dove (W.W.D. 37)
is taken from the top of a 50ft. tree bare
of leaves. There is one other dove in the same
tree. Time 4:30 PM.
