Vole (Microtus) '68, 74, 75, 85, 88, 89
1954
Apr. 21-24 (cont.)
Baram Kin. Valley elen 12,600ft, Nepal (cont.)
shot on the first day, but no other
predators have been observed in this fairly
highly dense & apparently rapidly reproducing
vole area. Of the 6 voles caught, 5 were
taken overnight and one during the day
between 7:00 A.M. & 1:30 P.M. (probably never the
former), so this species must be mostly noct-
turnal, perhaps explaining the apparent
lack of daytime predation.
