I left my traps out all day in hopes of getting Eutamias or Emmors, one of which I saw yesterday evening but was unable to collect it. I did find one which had been suckling young in one of my traps when I visited them about 2:00 P.M. The animal had lain so long in the hot sun that its preparation as a study specimen was difficult. In addition, the animal was in full process of a complete molt. I saw another Ammoe today when I visited my traps but couldn't get it. Collected several Leopard and Whip-tailed Lizards which are very common in this area. They are living where the sand is heaviest and in association with Atriplex, Dipodomys, Ammoopermyllo, etc. Collected several Redwinged Blackbirds which were occupying a cat-tail slough just south of the river bridge. Barn Swallows are quite common over this slough, and Bank Swallows are common everywhere. Also collected a Meadowlark near this slough.
