W.B. Davis 1936 Alkali Lake Ranch, Lake Co., Oregon, May 24 common here last night. The first one was seen about an hour before dark and from then on until about two hours after dark they were seen and heard. They were feeding for the most part over the open pond west of the ranch house. Occasionally however, they foraged over the [illegible], desert areas. The one I collected was foraging in the latter area. We left this camp at 10:30 A.M. headed toward Burns, Oregon. Snake River Bridge, Ontario, Malheur Co., Ore. May 26. Drove all day passing through Vagontire, Burns, Vale and Ontario. We arrived here about dark and got permission from Mr. N.C. Kreis to camp and collect on his property which borders the river here at the bridge. The highway cuts his property into two sections. We are camped on the north side of the highway about 100 yds. from the river. Yesterday - May 25 - I hunted Cistellus mollis from 6 A.M. to 10 A.M. and then again late in the afternoon - about 6 P.M.
