W.B.Davis 1936 2 mi. E Lakeview, 5200 ft., Lake Co., Oregon. May 21. Arctostaphylos. This, I believe borders on lower Canadiana, I found Juncoes to be the commonest birds in the area I visited last. They were paired off and perhaps were breeding judging from the nest discovered near camp. I collected three males. Also found House Wren, Lewis Woodpecker, Meadowlark, Wood Pewee, Lutescent Warbler, Brewer Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, Green-tailed Towhee, Flicker, Western Red-tail, Mountain Bluebird, Robin in this area, also Steller Jay. We saw a Marmot on the rocky north facing slope of the canyon about 1/2 mi. above camp. Pequignat tried for it but it got away. At this same place, on the south facing slope, along the road, I collected a Bushtit, and saw a Sparrow Hawk. We saw several Callospermophilus, one collects, I found one that had its den in a dead stump. Pulled the stump to pieces and had the Callo in my hand but it got away and down a burrow in the ground. Saw t's Eutamias amoenus; collected one, a ? which was suckling young, that had her home under a big stump along the creek. Saw the other one on the bridge at the forks of the creek. Shot at it,
