W.B. Davis 1935. Rupert, Minidoka Co., Idaho, Dec. 28, On my way back to Rupert I stopped along the highway at Acequia and set 12 mouse traps in an area in which I have trapped Dipodomys. Tracks which I think were made by this animal were found in the fresh snow. The traps were all set near burrow openings and placed about 50 feet apart. On the way from Acequia to Rupert I saw two Marsh Hawks. Dec. 29. This morning I drove to Acequia to look at my traps. I had caught only six Peromyscus maniculatus. Those that were killed outright by the traps were frozen stiff. One individual that was caught by the hind leg and tail was still alive and appeared quite active. These specimens are all much darker than summer taken specimens from this same area. Even so, they are not as dark as summer taken specimens of P. m. artemisiae. These specimens are nos. 1636-41. This P. M. more snow fell, but it doesn't last very long outside the town.
