W.B. Davis 1935, Superh, Minidoka Co., Idaho, Dec. 28 I stopped at the Jackson Bridge about 3 mi. SE of Acquia and hunted on the islands in the River. Near the bridge I found a buteonid hawk that was pretty well demolished. However, I picked it up and saved the leg and foot, wing and skull. On the island I saw evidence of Cottontail rabbits; saw Sage Grouse, Black-billed Magpie, Song Sparrows, and Juncos. On the river I identified (American Merganser), Mallard, and Coot; I collected two Juncos from a flock of about 50. These appear to be [illegible] distinct species). I stopped at my uncle's ranch 2 mi. E. of Acquia for an hour and visited with him. He told me he had two coyote skulls taken in Nevada which he would send. He strongly maintains there are two species of coyote in Nevada - one with a white tip to the tail, the other with a black tip. The white-tipped is supposed to be the larger. While at his ranch I saw a large flock of Brewer's Blackbirds feeding with a herd of cattle. This bird usually is found where stock are fed out-of-doors
