W.B.Davis 1935 Rupert, Minidoka Co., Idaho, Dec. 26, At Oakley I visited Mr. Clifford Fairchild only to find that he was not trapping this year. However, I did meet Mr. Ned Emery who has been trapping in the Goose Creek country south of Oakley. He showed me his fur catch which consisted of 103 coyote skins, I think (taken about 15 mi. S of Albion, 6 muskrat, 1 badger, 2 raccoons, 8 Bobcats). I purchased two cats, two coons and one badger skin. Mr. Emery promised to send me the skulls of the two coons. He also promised to send several skulls, eyes, & various fur bearers. Mr. Emery works for a group of sheep men in cooperation with the B.S. and is opposed to the principle of poisoning coyotes. He, is also opposed to the $1 bounty on eagles. His reasons are based on sound biological principles. The two raccoons were trapped in coyote sets fully 1/4 miles from Goose Creek -- in the sage.
