W.B. Davis 1935 475 Rupert, Minidoka Co., Idaho. Dec. 24. Arrived in Rupert Sunday morning, Dec. 22, after driving straight through from Berkeley - a 21 hour trip). (Dec. 22) Sunday afternoon, Howard Swining and I took a walk along the canal west and north of town, were out one hour and collected two birds, a Junco and a Sharp Shinned Hawk. Saw the following birds in addition. 1. English Sparrow - Hundreds 2. Flicker - 6 3. Long Sparrow - 3 4. Junco - 1 flock of about 50 5. Rocky Mt Nuttatch - 1 6. Pinon Jay - 2 7. Horned Lark - flock of about 50 Weather is clear and cold. No snow, but lots of ice. The river is frozen over in many places) and Lake Walcott is entirely covered with ice from 2 in to 12" thick. In the P. M. - about 4-5:30. Howard, Ray Ennis and I drove to the Minidoka dam to watch skaters. The ice was ideal. We drove along the river and were fortunate enough to see several hundred water fowl.
