W.B. Davis 1936. 441 Kaufman, Clark Co., Idaho. July 28 their burrows were at the base of an Artemisiae. Exceptions to this rule were found, however. It seems that they prefer some sort of elevated ground to burrow into, although I found one burrow that was next, in the road. I could observe no differences in actions of these squirrels from those taken at Taber, Arco and Berenice, and certainly the color can be matched with specimens from each of the above localities. I believe they are all the same race, for certainly there is no barrier to separate them. Admittedly, the habitat is different, I looked at my gopher traps this evening. No luck. Two traps were filled with dirt so I reset them. Found the decayed body of a badger along the canal bank where I was hunting. Saved skull only. Also found the rutler of a Mule Deer near the base of the mts, about 1/2 mi. E of the creek,
