W B Savio 1935. Kaufman, Clark Co, Idaho. June 27 was about 16 miles NW of American Falls that I found a good colony and I collected several. These squirrels remind me very much of C. idahoensis in actions and especially in the 'dee dee dee dee' type of call. They certainly are different from those on the south side of the Snake River, and I believe their affinities are with idahoensis. I turned east again and drove into Aberdeen and from there followed the main highway to Pingree, a small village about 19 miles by highway from Blackfoot, on the west side of the river. About 5 miles W of Aberdeen I found a colony of about a dozen pairs of Long-billed Curlews. They were in an area of mixed Artemisia and June grass, the latter predominating, and about two miles from the nearest water. Two were collected, one saved as a skin, the other as a skeleton. I ate the meat of one and it proved quite delicious even though the flesh is dark and coarse. About 2 mis SW of Aberdeen I collected a garter Snake on a canal
