W.B. Davis 1935 Areo, Butte Co., Idaho, June 23, overlap in the area occupied by these two squirrels. Between [illegible] River and Bonanza Bar there is a considerable area that was once dry farmed, but which has now been deserted. The land is beginning to revert to its former sage covering, but at present is densely covered with June grass. Here is the ideal place to find C. mollis. I noted them constantly up to within a mile of Bonanza Bar, which, being an irrigated area along the river, offers a habitat favorable for C. oreganus and C. armatus. Only the latter was found, and thus it appears that the area from Alliow to [illegible] River is a zone of overlap for these two species of Citellus. At [illegible] River I saw the following birds - Long-tailed Chickadee, Western and Eastern King birds, Black-billed Magpie, Harmed Owl, Marsh Hawk, Flicker, Yellow Warbler, Wex. Yellow-throat, Souter, Horned Lark Sage Thrasher, Pacific Nighthawk, Bank and Barn Swallows, Brewer and Red-wing black- birds, Black-headed Grosbeak.
