W.B. Davis 1935. Superb, Minidoka Co., Idaho June 15 410 12 miles S of Malta. Here I found C. oregonus, Q. armatus and C. mollis in the same field and all within 25 yards of each other. Again my impression that Oregonus and armatus occupy the sametypes of habitat seemed to be demonstrated. The armatus were found around a deserted barn, its corral and a pile of wood. oregonus were found in clumps of "Wild Rye", yet each I believe were competitors for the available food source. Q. mollis were found in that peculiar day like soil again and seemed to prefer open places for their burrows. though several burrows were seen at the base of Lithos Atriplex and Artemisia bushes. There is no competition between mollis and the other two squirrels so far as I could see. This P.M. I drove from Elba to Superb via Malta and Idahoome about 6 mi.
