N of Ontario, Oregon). The young muskrat died today and was saved as a specimen. I collected two more C. idahoensis today and the more I see of these two squirrels, the more I am inclined to think they are distinct species. However the general build and similar shape and size of the ear indicates their close relationship. Also collected a pair of Red-wing Blackbirds. They are very common here, Elba, Cassia Co., Idaho. June 12. We left our last camp June 3 and drove via Emmett Valley to Boise and camped for the night about 4 miles west of Glenns Ferry. The next day, June 4 we drove via Kinghill, Gooding, Shoshone, Edin and Paul to Rupert and later in the day I took Aldrich and Twining to Howell's Canyon about 10 miles south of Albion where the two camped for a week.
